Deborah Rogers

B.A. Psychology, B.Ed, M.A

Deborah has many years of experience as a classroom and Special Education teacher as well as a K-12 Special Education Consultant. She collaborates with families and educators to support students with diverse Special Education needs as well as students in the regular classroom. Deborah specialises in working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors at home and in a school setting. She supports educational staff to further develop their best practice so that they can confidently use effective strategies to prevent and reduce disruptions. With every student that she works with, she addresses the social and emotional needs of the child.

Deborah supports families each step of the way to navigate both the public and private school systems to put the right supports in place including mental health services if needed. Deborah uses a child-centered lens  that highlights and builds on student strengths. She has expertise in Trauma-Informed Classrooms, Mindfulness, and Restorative Practices and professionally trains staff to use these current teaching practices in their educational contexts.

Deborah and her team are educational and well-being consultants who use a child-centred approach based on the child’s strengths to ensure that children are able to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

We use a collaborative team approach to work with students and their families to meet a child’s needs from an educational and social-emotional lens. We help students meet their academic goals and create individualized plans to lay out the steps to reach these goals

Along with school staff and administrators, we  work with many different professionals, such as social workers, psychologists, therapeutic centres, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists to ensure that each child and family can access the support they need.
